Punta Gorda Martial Arts is an affiliate of Robson Moura Nations United. Robson Moura Fonseca is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor, instructor and a mixed martial artist. He started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the age of 10 in Teresópolis, Brazil. His first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teacher was Ailson “Jucão” Brites, though Moura attained the rank of black belt at the age of 18 from Nova União co-founder Andre Pederneiras. Today Moura holds a 5th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Brites.He has a mixed martial arts record of 2-1-1. Moura is known for his innovative style and ever-evolving technique in the world of jiu-jitsu. He won his division in the BJJ Mundials from 1996 through 2000, and again in 2007.

Mountain Teachings, nestled in the heart of Port Charlotte, Florida, offers a profound and immersive martial arts experience. Under the tutelage of Roger Wehrhahn, Shihan 7th-degree black belt, students delve into the ancient traditions of Okinawa Kobudo, where they learn to master the Bo, Sai, Nunchaku, Tonfa and many of the lesser known weapons such as the Kama, Eiku, and Nunti Bo. At Gracie North Port Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I teach Jiu Jitsu for self defense as well as competition. We teach ages 5 - adult, and we offer lessons in a class format as well as private format.
