WHO: The North Port City Commission is the elected body scheduled to take the vote.

WHAT: Commissioners are scheduled to consider the second reading of Ordinance 2026-26, a measure that would revise the transportation impact-fee rate schedule for new development.

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m.

WHERE: City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 4970 City Hall Blvd., North Port, FL 34286.

WHY IT MATTERS: Impact fees help pay for eligible infrastructure associated with growth, and city material says the proposal would return the schedule to 75 percent of rates calculated in a 2011 study while reducing future revenue available for transportation-capacity improvements.

HOW TO FOLLOW OR PARTICIPATE: Read the official agenda and backup documents, attend the public meeting, provide public comment in person or watch the city’s Commission meeting stream.

Agendas can change, so check the official meeting record again before leaving home.

Good civic coverage begins before the gavel falls.
